How do you like Kiyomizu-dera?

We love it; it's so interesting. Very pleasant experience.

Why did you come to Kiyomizu-dera?

I'm a big history buff, and I knew I wanted to see the capital from thousands of years ago, and so Kyoto was definitely on my list of things to do: to see the countryside, and the history of Japan. And we're on a tour group, and this was our very first stop.

Have you been anywhere else in Japan?

We have taken tours to Hakone, Lake Kawaguchi, Mt Fuji... Mainly within about the fifty mile radius of Tokyo. Yeah. We love tours. This is our first [tour in the] south...or west? Are we southwest? We did go to Nikko. That was fun, too. Yeah, we love Japan.

Would you recommend Kyoto to your friends and family?

[It's a] must-do. Absolutely.

Are there any similarities between Japan and where you're from?

Similarities? Hmm... It's much prettier, so no. (laughs) It's filled with history, so no. This is an awesome place. You gotta go see this place.
