from:United States

Updated at: 2016.03.05

Interview

How do you like Nishiki Market?

It's a beautiful market. I have seen many markets in the world, and this one is...it's more like a retail market. It doesn't look dirty, it doesn't look cheap. It doesn't smell.

Why did you come to Nishiki Market?

Sushi. (laughs) I came for sushi, to have some sushi and I'm just waiting for the interview [to finish] to have it with a nice beer and that's it. It will be a nice evening.

What's your favorite part of Kyoto?

I think...the old area, the temples, the bamboo gardens were beautiful also.

Would you recommend Kyoto to your friends and family?

Definitely. Definitely. The people were so warm, so warming, so kind. It's a beautiful place to visit.

Are there any similarities between Japan and where you're from?

Uh...it's complicated, but it's--the people in Miami are complicated, but I think they will enjoy it, yes.
